OUR Story

Sarah Brooke Sandin and Ryan Lawrence, the creative minds behind The Stables, moved here from Los Angeles where creative spaces and community were ample. Upon arriving, they realized it was pretty difficult to come across a well maintained building that was solely dedicated to professional artists… so, they set out to create one.

SARAH Brooke SANDIN

Founder of The Stables | Artist | Creative Reformer | Muse

Sarah Brooke Sandin is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and founder of The Stables an underground-inspired art and concept space born out of decades spent immersed in music, fashion, and creative subculture. Raised in the wildernesses of Canada and Humboldt County California, Sarah’s early life was shaped by a raw and unconventional upbringing that forged in her an unshakable sense of resilience, independence, and a deep reverence for nature and freedom.

From backwoods homesteads to the creative undercurrents of Humboldt County and two decades in L.A.'s fashion, art, and music worlds, Sarah has always lived outside the lines. The Stables is a culmination of that path. A gritty, evocative warehouse space turned sanctuary for authentic expression, rebellious artistry, and soulful reinvention. Inspired by the spirit of Warhol’s Factory, CBGB’s, and the DIY ethos of underground scenes, The Stables is more than a venue, it’s a cultural movement.

Sarah's work spans visual art, storytelling, wellness rituals, and transformative community experiences, all aimed at reclaiming self-worth, rejecting performative perfection, and empowering others to reconnect with their creative voice. With a strong belief in truth over trend and connection over performance, her mission is to build a legacy that liberates creatives from societal pressure and instead, invites them into power, purpose, and presence.

Ryan Lawrence

Wood Artist | Sculptural Sign Maker | Co-Founder of The Stables Savannah

Born and raised in Brick, New Jersey, Ryan Lawrence is a master-level woodworker who specializes in sculptural wood art and custom signage that bridges fine craftsmanship with visual storytelling. Each piece—whether a statement wall installation or a branded sign for a business—is designed to leave a lasting impression, evoking both soul and structure.

His work has been featured on national stages, including the visually striking wood backdrops for two of the most influential liberty-leaning podcasts: Part of The Problem with Dave Smith and Liberty Lockdown with Clint Russell. These backdrops have become signature visuals of their respective brands, blending message and medium through Ryan’s thoughtful design.

Locally, his work is woven into the fabric of Savannah—gracing the interiors of beloved establishments like Fox & Fig and Foxy Loxy. As co-founder of @thestablessavannah, Ryan helps anchor a collaborative art space that champions community, craftsmanship, and bold, lasting work.
